Over 84 million voters are preparing to elect their next president on Saturday, February 16. The top two contenders are incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari of the ruling All Progressives Congress party, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party. President Buhari looks to secure a second term despite an escalation in Boko Haram attacks that Buhari promised to end. Nigeria still struggles in areas of public infrastructure, corruption, high inflation, and access to safe drinking water. As the presidential election draws near, which issues are the most important to voters? VOA’S Paul Ndiho and Peter Clottey provided insight.
